During our appointment today, he had labwork done, chest xray and our cardiac nurse visit.
His labs were wonderful; sodium still on the low side, but with a 3-diuretic regimen this is something that is to be expected --- even after all this time.
His chest xray was even more wonderful! Picture-perfect wonderful. Sooo many prayers have been answered when it comes to his left side! Tyler experience some pretty serious pain last night, and the cause of the pain wasn't figured out until we took a look at today's xray. The pain he was having was a direct result from his Blake drain dropping and shifting downward three ribs. It moved just perfectly into the pocket of fluid and released it all out of there (about thirty minutes post-pain Monday night).
So the plan of care today is to back off of his Metolazone, once again, to the every three days dosage, and to keep praying for the exact same xray results next week. If his fluid output starts to decrease over the next few weeks, and the ''picture-perfect'' xrays continue, we'll be pulling out his Left Blake drain in no time!
