We had an appointment today, as a follow up to the emergency one on Monday, and for the most part it went good. The chest xray that he got today showed no change since Monday; which is a good thing for the Right side (the drain that was pulled on Mon was the R one)... but that's not awesome news for the Left. HOWEVER the bright side is the Left didn't get worse!! So, he still remains on the three diuretics, but they're going to get more aggressive with the strongest one, his Metolazone. He currently gets Metolazone once every three days, but now we're going to start taking it every other day (still in conjunction with the other two). Their hoping by his next appointment on Tuesday we'll see a change in the amount of fluid left in his chest. (we really want it to decrease by Tuesday folks)... otherwise, the nurse and I talked this afternoon about the possibility to place separate, new drain thru his left side ribs in order to reach that built-up fluid pocket that the current drain isn't picking up. I'm not scared about this, because clinically he looks great and feels better. If need be, this step just might be what we need to do in order to be fluid-free!
