Another great xray today . . .
x-ray

New week, same routine!
Labs, chest xray, and visit with a cardiac surgery nurse.

Labs = no change! Yay!

Xray = no change! Yay!

Visit notes = As of today, we are discontinuing the use of the 3rd harsh, diuretic (Metolazone) this week, so that Tyler's body can clinically prove to the nursing staff that his chest cavity is really ready to have his Left drain removed. In addition to not using the Metolazone this week, we are supposed to increase his fat intake, so that we can prove if an increase in fat will still inturn create more fluid in his chest. It's best to do this now before we go pulling this Left drain in a week... and then encounter built-up fluid problems after we go resuming a normal diet. Everyone wants to see what his body will do when he's living life as he did pre-surgery... and there's no better time to do this than when he still has his drain in. We'd hate to have to go back in the operating room to insert a replacement drain just because we prematurely pulled his current one without running a few ''normalcy'' scenarios.

The Right chest cavity side continues to look great and he's healing up nicely at the Right drain insertion site. Also his chest incision and Bypass incision at the groin still look great too!

His blood pressure has been very good since coming home and his saturation has been running 97 at our weekly visits. We don't see Dr. Kaine (Tyler's cardiologist) or get our Echo & EKG completed until September 19th, since we'll continue to be followed in surgery clinic until then.

Mommy can't wait for the time to come when it's safe to get the Left drain out so we can drop a handful of these medicines he's on. It'll save some dough as well as save his poor little kidneys and liver! Hehe!

Love, Kathleen
