Last weekend we went to the zoo
The big zoo
The city zoo
The ones with giraffes and gorillas and a lion and tiger
We went with a stroller the Ergo, lunch and lovies
A production
The kids wanted to go in different directions
One wants up, one wants down, both want the stroller, a novelty these days
They want what each other has and they want to be unique and they want to do it all by themselves
Little people thinking big thoughts
They say big things and run fast and jump high
They don't mean to sting with words
But sometimes they do
Like when Fynn says "You CAN'T take my picture!" and "Go away!" and "I don't have to listen"
{which one do you think he was saying in this one? ;)}
But they're so full of sweetness at the same time
Heartache and conflict and joy and cuddles
They break my heart and melt it back together every single day of their existence
So we go
To the zoo
And we take the moments as they come
Fleeting happiness and stubborn pride and battles of wills
Because we're there for the giraffes {my favorite} and gorillas
The lion and the tiger
We're there to walk side by side with the wild animals
And take in the view, trying not to get in their way
