DON'T FOR GET TO GO HERE FOR THE $250 GIVEAWAY! IT ENDS 1/9/11 SO HURRY OVER!
I was flipping through my latest Elle magazine, and I saw a bracelet that I just had to have! It was just my style and I loved the colors.
HALT! Put the breaks on! This joker was $115! WHAT?!
Well, you know me, I got out the stash until I found the perfect thing to make this bracelet myself! MY mom had been collecting these super thick rolls of cardboard for me because she just knew I would turn them into something great! I had to get my husband in on this because these rolls needed a strong man to cut through them, maybe with a chainsaw?!
Husband was happy to help me turn this hunk of junk into a bracelet if I would please not ask for that overpriced piece from the magazine! I used a variety of acrylic paint to get the color scheme I wanted. I also added some Dimensional Magic Mod Podge for added depth and gloss. Can you believe I turned the above picture into the below bracelet?
Super Duper Thick Cardboard: FREE (Thanks, Mom!)
Paint and Mod Podge: on hand
Manly, tough, and handy husband: on hand
Total cost: FREE!
Bracelet in magazine: $115
