Pumpkin Patch at Oz Park

We live near the cutest city park called Oz Park. I walk there eveery day- sometimes twice with my mini sled team- Brennan and Jack. It is so gorgeous. It was initial funded by a woman named Dorothy who was a physical education teached in Chicago her whole life. She never married and loved children. She donated her entire retirement and estate to the City of Chicago for the development of a park where her dream was that there would always be gorgeous places funded by the city for children to play and be fit.

The park features tall statues of the characted fro the Wizard of Oz- throughout. and the Emerald City Butterfly and Flower garden- which is a peaceful little gated oasis in the park thaat dogs are not allowed and people go for picnics, to lay out, read, even meditate and do yoga.

They have an amazing, large tot lot with great wooden climbing toys and swings and forts. Tennis courts and water fountains for the dogs even! It is not a dog park, but everyone convenes in the same area of the park daily in the AM and PM and lets their dogs off togehter in a little area.

This past weekend they had a pumpkin patch with a whole fall Festival really there were pony rides, face painting, moon bounces, and a baby pumpkin patch and petting zoo. Mom and I took Jack and he had a blast with the little animals and pumpkins - here are a few pics.
