I walked to the Green City Farmer's Market this morning and was in heaven! I had not been since last summer and this truly made it seem like Summer!
Music playing, coffee, friendly farmers with loads of produce and flowers, cheeses and jams, salsas even handmade glycerine soaps.
First of all- it is all organic and super fresh and therefore healthy and delish-
Best of all it is so cheap it feels like a crime- a huge bouquet of flowers for 5 bucks- peonies!---BIG PINK ONES. 12 corn for 3 dollars!
It is in the middle of Lincoln Park, you can bring your dog and produce bag and see the zoo, swan pond, lake and skyline all as you saunter around- how gorgeous is this city- love it!
If you need a good hostess gift or something for a neighbor, friend or thank you get a basket filled with berries, fruit, veggies and make a market basket with a pretty ginham or grosgrain ribbon!
Have friends in town for a weekend- go to the market and then make a nice summer dinner with the produce and have a great wine with candles in your garden-
So they are open every Sat and Wed morning and get there early- if you dont live in Chicago, I am sure you can do the same at a Market near you!
