Make a Dry Erase Kitchen Frame

Having something cute and coordinating to write on in your kitchen is a must these days. Lay out the menu for dinner guests, or keep a running grocery list. But whatever it is, do it in style!

I got the idea from a gift I was given. I went to buy one for a friend at a local boutique but their product was a little overpriced in my opinion.

I imagine that most of you have some old picture frames that need some dusting and a little TLC. If not, you can grab one at the dollar store for, well, a dollar. The key to making this work for you is finding a fabric that works well in your kitchen. A fat quarter will be more than enough. Remove the glass and the backing from the frame. Using fabric Mod Podge, adhere the chosen fabric to the front of the frame, covering all visible parts, and wrapping to secure. This is the toughest part, but not too difficult.

A little messy, maybe, but well worth it! Next, cover the backing of the frame (the side that shows when there is no picture inserted) with a light colored fabric so that black will pop when used on top. Fabric Mod Podge works well here as well.

Trim all fabric, clean the glass, and put the frame back together. You now have a perfectly matching wipe off frame for your kitchen!

Frame: $1.00
Frabric: $1.00
Other supplies: on hand

Total cost: $2.00
Similar kitchen wipe off board: $32.00

These would be great for other purposes, too... in any room! Where do you need one of these and why?
