Family Updates

Its Officially Summer! and my 1st day as a blogger!

Happy Summer!

We kicked off Summer by celebrating a good friends birthday with a great afternoon boating on the Lake! Of course we needed a great menu and drinks to go with it. I made all of the food and used one of my favorite new cookbooks for menu inspiration. Inside the Kennedy Kitchen- There is no doubt that the Kennedy's have lived a great lifestyle on the water for decades and this book is all emcompassing of their family, traditions, and the beauty of the Cape. It covers all Seasons and their personal menus for holidays- this Coastal Inspired cookbook is a must for your collection. All of the menus in the book have gorgeous photographs and the recipies actually easy and practical. I love it-

It even has a day out on the MYA- ( JFK's sailboat) and I borrowed ideas from that menu and several others-

My menu was simple and very easy to make ahead and not need to use galley kitchen- Tortilla Chips with Pico de Gallo, Mango Salsa and Guac, Mini BLT's, Smoked Salmon and Boursin, Cold Grilled BBQ Chicken, Deviled Eggs with Old Bay, Caesar Salad, mini Buttermilk Biscuits with honey butter, and Espresso Brownies with Vanilla Glaze! It was a perfect start to the summer with great friends weather, food, of course..... great drinks! The host is a wine rep from Napa and truly spoiled us as well!

Heres to a great Summer and check out this new cookbook for alot of great pics, Cape style living and delish recipes! Oh and for the cupcake lovers out there- I know there are a few.... I am trying Kara Kennedys Chocolate Wedding Cake recipe with Grand Marnier Buttercream frosting as cupcakes for the next time I need to bring a dessert to something... so will let you know. Or can post the recipie if anyone is interested.

Heres to a great Summer with lots of great get togethers with friends and family!

Cheers!
